Dermaplaning is one of the easiest ways of removing unwanted hair from the face at home.

Dermaplaning is a method of physical exfoliation using a sterile surgical scalpel to gently shave the epidermis layer of the skin to eliminate the vellus hair which is known as peach fuzz. This procedure leaves the skin even more silky smooth than other exfoliation techniques due to the hair removal process. Dermaplaning helps the skin to absorb products more deeply due to the skin being more smooth and hydrated after the treatment. The skin will be left smooth, clear and naturally radiant. It’s a favourite among super models and celebrities, partly due to the minimal downtime after the procedure.

    Dermaplaning uses a surgical blade to perform a deep exfoliation. The edge of the scalpel is used at a 45-degree angle to scrape the build-up of dirt and oils in and around the skin and vellus hair.

    The vellus hair is completely removed during the process leaving skin ultra-smooth and creating the perfect base for make-up application.

    Dermaplaning is a very safe procedure. Skin is stretched during the procedure and the blade is always held at a 45-degree angle to reduce the risk of nicking the skin with the blade. If you have dry patches of skin, a small amount of serum is applied to enable to the blade to glide across the skin smoothly.

    Skin may be a little pink immediately after treatment due to being stretched but this normally subsides within an hour or so.

    Peach fuzz / vellus hairs do not come back thicker and stronger. It will grow back at exactly the same rate, thickness and texture as before.

    Your skin will feel fantastic after the treatment, but please take care of the following aftercare advice .

    You may feel slight itchiness or a stinging sensation for the first 24 hrs after treatment. This is perfectly normal Avoid make-up for 24-48hrs after treatment for best result

    Avoid chlorine for 24 hours

    Avoid facial waxing for 7 days Avoid Dermal Fillers or Botox for 2 to 4 weeks depending on area Avoid excessive heat for 3 days after treatment. No heavy workouts, steam rooms or saunas, etc.

    Avoid the use of exfoliating scrubs for at least one week after treatment.

    Avoid direct sunlight and wear SPF30-50 when outside for 1 to 2 weeks following the treatment.

    Do not have any other facial treatment for two weeks after treatment. Skincare Routine: When washing your face, use a gentle, approved cleanser. Rinse skin gently (with water only) and pat dry/do not rub. Avoid harsh cleansers or washcloths.
