Dermapen

Starting from £120.00

Dermapen, aka micro needling or collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure in which thousands of tiny little needles are inserted into the surface of skin via a rolling or stamping device. It has minimum downtime which promotes scarless healing and natural collagen production in the skin to improve the appearance of scars, acne scarring, stretch marks and wrinkles.

A dermapen works through a method of puncturing the skin through a spring-loaded automated function, the dermapen uses microneedles to move up and down across the skin, puncturing small holes as it moves. The mechanism inside the dermapen causes the stimulation of healthy collagen and the small punctures in the skin to allow for nutrients to be absorbed into the deep layers of the skin. The dermapen process is fast and therefore doesn’t damage the dermal layers of the skin.

    FAQs

You may look and feel as though you have sunburn, to ensure your skin returns to normal as quickly as possible and to achieve the best results we advise:

    • Always make sure that your hands are thoroughly clean when touching the treatment area post procedure.
    • Aggressive Skin Care Products should be avoided until the redness has subsided and it is recommended that makeup is not applied for 24 hours after the procedure.
    • Avoid sauna’s, exercise, hot baths/showers until the redness has gone (this is usually within 24 hours minimum)
    • Avoid intensive sunlight exposure and artificial UV exposure for a period of at least 2-3 weeks after the procedure.
    • Fake tan should not be applied 10-14 days prior, and 7 days following a Dermapen treatment
    • Do not expose yourself to the sun: After you have undergone your micro-needling procedure, avoid the sun as much as you can because the skin channels are open.

Avoid make up after treatment : It is important that you give your skin room to breathe and especially for around 24 hours after the procedure and especially when using a brush. Remember, the skin channels are still open. Before you go back to makeup, give your skin the time it needs to recover.

Avoid any Excerise : If you do not, you will start to sweat and this may cause adverse effects and especially because as you sweat, the sweat on the skin will be contaminated by bacteria which will, in turn, find its way to skin punctures and lead to a reaction.

HYDRATE YOUR SKIN ONCE IN A WHILE: this is most preferably with water or other products that do not irritate or contain toxins. After the procedure the skin will feel tighter and very dry, hydrating it will feel great.

You will begin to see the results immediately after the treatment, your skin will be plump, smooth and radiant. However, depending on the skin concern, the results will take 3-4 weeks.

Dermapen can be reached to  more areas then the Derma Roller,  being motorised leaves you with a more even treatment. With better results achieved due the needles going straight up and down leaving neater more consistent micro tears.

Unlike the dermal roller  you can set the penetration depth of the needles from 0.2 – 2.5mm which puts you in control of the results you want to achieve.

The dermal roller rolls over the skin leaving larger uneven trenches which can lead to larger pores.
